3 rings = system failure, pops up for several reasons if your cpu/gpu overheats too much, 3 rings pop up.
it can also appear for alot of other things wrong with your console but thats the most popular reason…
4 rings = either your Audio/Video cable isnt in, or isnt plugged in properly… it can also appear if the plugin for your A/V cable is damaged.

im an expert on rrod and fixing it so ill explain each…
1 ring = a system error, suchas your missing a part on your xbox, or your gpu failed, etc… 1 ring will also make a message appear on your screen like, e-68, e-64, e-74 etc…
2 rings = overheat, just means your xbox is too hot, dont let your xbox overheat for an extended time, it leads to getting the 3 red rings…
