Does Quantum Physics Confirm The Occult?

Rather than discrediting the occult, recent scientific discoveries in quantum physics seem to reaffirm a place for mystical ideas. But the author cautions both sides not to jump to hasty conclusions.

    @MikeDeFi

By the time I hit the word window. I was spraying my computer laughing my ass off. Thanks mate XD

  • vrd180:

Stating science confirms mystical notions is nothing more than hindsight bias.

  • MikeDeFi:

I got a leap for you: Pick up your computer, hold it close to your chest, and leap out the window. If my theory is correct, the microprocessor should – and this is a big SHOULD – create a holographic force-field below you to protect its existence and you along with it (being that it’s an invention of Quantum Mechanics and you’re a moron).

Just remember to think happy thoughts on the way down. : )

If you want to see a peculiar link between quantum physics and occultism you might want to check this out: watch?v=TufKcBa5RaI

The interesting thing is that isn’t quantum mysticism talk. Someone discovered that the details of holographic loop quantum gravity (LQG) are IDENTICAL IN DETAIL to Hermetic occultism!

  • Nervousification:

@FraterAVA What would those similarities be? And what physics are you going into, if you don’t mind my asking.

  • FraterAVA:

@Nervousification I think there are many scientists who believe in occult philosophy nowadays. (Well… it doesn’t depend on my thinking – it just happens). For example I am gonna be one of them :D In fact, between kabbalah, hindu mysticism (alchemy too) and modern physics, kosmology one can find a lot of similarities. Well… e.g. Heisenberg did believe in what I am talking about ;)

  • Nervousification:

“I encourage people not to make that leap.”
Funny, if it weren’t for people like him, no one would have thought to make that leap to begin with.

  • Nervousification:

@FraterAVA He was a creationist too. Let’s consider the *tiny* possibility that a guy from 500 years ago is not the foremost scientific authority of today. What do you think? ;)

  • FraterAVA:

@Nervousification Newton was a Rosicrucian and Rosicrucians believe in alchemy. Search in Wikipedia for Newton and for alchemy.

  • Kenshiroit:

Im bit annoyed, by all thise newagers who simply talk out of their ass. Learn something on physics and then talk, rather than doing ignorant remarks.

  • Nervousification:

Newton believed in alchemy?! Omg! A science guy born in 1643 believed in the supernatural!?

  • brendakim1111:

Who the hell is this guy?
Seems to me he has been listening to Depak Chopra too much.
New agers and quantum mechanics? How about creationism and evolution?
    silliness !

  • brendakim1111:

This idiot has no idea what he talking about, the most notable physicists (Richard Feynmen, Steven Weinberg, Eienstein) laugh at these superstitious ideas. The physical universe is all there is, to suggest otherwise only shows you understand nothing of particle physics. If quantum mechanical experiments prove one thing, it is that all things are made of elementary particles and composite particles in other words natural(physical). There is NO supernatural dimension to anything. Self healing? ha

@captainhampton I have about 30 thousand hours of notes from Caltech-MIT-Berkeley, and the one thing i’ve learned is..”Ignorance and Indifference is the Root and Stem of every Evil”-Plato

my point is, it goes both ways and people like yourself should not keep perpetuating these mindsets. Please refrain from misguiding humanity back into the dark ages. You probably are one of the people who regurgitate high school newtonian mechanics as the word of god

  • IEnumerable:

Quantum physics has really got me thinking – we really ought to heighten our search for that teapot orbiting in space between Earth and Mars. It’s gotta be out there somewhere.

  • captainhampton:

Perhaps if these new agers took a course in quantum mechanics rather than talking out of their ass about some bastardized version of quantum physics they obtained on the back of a cereal box, there would be less of these people wasting the time of scientists and poisoning the general public’s mind with horribly misconstrued ideas of quantum mechanics. If anything these people are setting back physics from a good portion of time, and insulting those who actually study the subject.

  • Triathlete5551:

@canibaloxide agreed physics is our best model for reality and making predictions based on that understanding

  • canibaloxide:

@Triathlete5551 The occult is fantasy and physics is a model that may be true to reality.

  • OpiatedBliss:

uhg all this mysticism tied in with quantum physics & consciousness is just as laughable as scientology

  • spartacandream:

This guy just talks bullshit past you. Perhaps quantum physics does or will prove the occult, but he clearly doesn’t make a case for it. Aside from misrepresenting the double slit experiment, he just rambles on and on with nothing important. maybe his other stuff is better? I hope so.
Physicists are largely disinterested in the occult today. It’s not that they’re afraid of it, they either just don’t care or are some of the few that do have an interest. That says nothing of whether its true.

  • nickharvey7:

Interesting video! I am an artist on YouTube trying to promote my theory on the dynamics of light and time

This theory is based on just two simple postulates

    1. The first is that the quantum wave particle function explained by Schrödinger’s wave equation represents the forward passage of time itself

    2. The second is that Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle that is formed by the wave function is the same uncertainty we have with any future event

  • elzakrasz:

New Agers just love quantum physics…until they attend a class in the subject and see it’s not “sending your wishes out to the universe and influencing matter.”QP involves a huge amount of math, science, and even then, most people can’t grasp it.Having been exposed only to most basic level, one can easily see Chopra and “The Secret” chick are full of it when they claim that quantum physics proves their nonsense. They hope that the difficulty of the subject will dissuade investigation of their claim

  • andid:

Quantum physicists aren’t jumping to any hasty conclusions: they’ve spent their lives studying this stuff, backing up every claim they make with evidence. New agers attempting to hijack their theories to justify fairytales hold the burden of proof for their claims. It is not hasty to assume they’re bullshitting if there’s no evidence. Until they can back up any of their claims with evidence, the default position is non belief, and any believer deserves their disparagement in full.

  • Provoker7:

If quantum physics confirms anything an occultist has ever said, it’ll be purely by accident. Make up enough permutations of unsupported claims and eventually you’ll find a match somewhere in the cess pool of New Age make-belief.

  • Triathlete5551:

“New Agers” and Physicists … never mix… the occult is fantasy… physics is reality
