This is the 1991 rematch between Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Earthquake. This is right after Earthquake “squashed” Jake’s original snake, Damien and the debut of Jake’s new snake, Lucipher.

Good cripes, was the DDT treated as absolute death or what. Surprised to see Jake lay out Earthquake with the short arm clothesline. Soon as he locked the DDT on Earthquake escaped it ASAFP.
@redivo84 Jake said on the Pick Your Poison DVD that his job was “to get people ready for Hogan!” He never wanted the world title, & said he never needed it. Roddy Piper had the same thing

I remember Jake Roberts say the idea of a big pay day by fighting champion hulk hogan was coming but at an event the crowd was cheering for Jake to do the DDT on Hogan that killed his chances because Hogan was the biggest draw. I thought that was interesting.
funny the way Earthquake used to run when he first got into the ring and then jump up n down lol. Would have been good to see Jake get a feud going with Hogan
i hate the way wrestlers look at the crowd when they are thinking of doing something, Hogan was the worst for it. Its like he needed the fans permission.

Horrible camera work at this match. Even Alfred Hayes @ 2:11 hints at them to bring that camera closer with more close-ups.
