Abandoned Haunted House in Ghost Town of Sprucevale, Ohio
This is an abandoned home amongst the remnants of a ghost town formerly named Sprucevale. This former “town” is located in the current Beaver Creek State Park near East Liverpool, Ohio. The town thrived in the 19th century as a canal town until the railroads took over the canal/lock system for transporting goods. The town has many ghost stories, and the house in this slideshow is included. Supposedly a boy commited suicide by hanging himself in the home. The building looks like it was occupied as late as the 1950s or maybe even 60s. The building was usually very securely boarded up, but I was able to gain access through a loose board one winter morning. The photograghs I took are the only ones that I know of from inside the building. I did not have a flashlight with me, so navigating the completely pitch dark home was difficult and dangerous, therefore the photos are poorly aimed. I did not stay long or explore thoroughly due to safety and security reasons. This building was demolished in 2007, however, a marker still stands describing its history in the town.
