Service dogs perform a wide variety of tasks which enable individuals to experience increased independence and enhanced quality of life. Carolina Canines trains service dogs for people with functional limitations of mobility. There are 3 categories of Service Dogs that Carolina Canines for Service trains for. Service dogs trained through Carolina Canines for Service, Inc. are able to perform the following tasks for their partners: •Retrieve and carry objects. •Turn on lights and call attention to safety hazards. •Open doors and cabinets. •Provide a bridge back to society for the individual. •Provide balance and stability for an amputee or someone who has lost mobility. •Be a source of love and companionship. •Provide assistance dressing and undressing. •Help with household tasks like making the bed and laundry. •Pull their partner in a wheelchair and help load wheelchairs. •Provide physical support for transfers to and from a wheelchair. •Push elevator buttons and transfer money at the store. •Provide physical assistance to help an individual recover from a fall. •Help individuals with disabilities make the transition back to independence together. North Carolina Ghost Stories 1: Light at Maco Station – The old railway grade is just behind the Mobil gas station at the junction of US74/76 and NC 87. The railroad removed the track in 1977. The old railway grade parallel to US Highway 74/76 is still evident, but requires some trailblazing to manage, and has been partly developed for housing and business. Maco is now a busy crossroads. The Maco Light was a mysterious light that resembled the glow from a lantern. Joe Baldwin was the sole occupant of the rear car of a Wilmington-bound train on a rainy night in 1867. As the train neared Maco, Baldwin realized the car had become detached from the rest of the train. He knew another train was following, so he ran to the rear platform and frantically waved a lantern to signal the oncoming train. The engineer failed to see the stranded railroad car in time, and Baldwin supposedly was decapitated in the collision.

Possible meteor impact in NC! Look for a cover up, there was no close approach listed on spaceweather for this meteor. AMS confirms meteor sightings! MSM is reporting on the new oil slick now, yahoo news reporting. From RSOE: Calls and emails have been coming into the newsroom about a fireball streaking across the sky Tuesday night. It appears what people saw was a meteor like the one in the picture accompanying this story, but maybe not quite as big. We received calls emails and from people in Beaufort County, Kinston, Camp Lejeune, and Winterville all describing the same thing around 7:30: A blue-green fireball streaking across the sky towards the East until it disappeared. No one reports hearing or seeing any impact. We talked with the National Weather Service out of Newport where officials say they have also had similar reports, but can’t confirm for sure that it was a meteor. A meteor is a piece of rock or other debris from space that burns up as it enters Earth’s atmosphere. Because the objects are moving at many thousands of miles per hour, they create friction with the atmosphere as they enter and burn up.
