Of course, the quote is used in a misleading manner — Einstein was not a theists. The most hilarious fundie claim that I have seen about Einstein was not only that he was religious, but that he was a Christian. Even if Einstein had been devoutly religious, this would be irrelevant to the truth value of God-concepts. In addition to his unfortunate “dice” metaphor, Einstein also said: “I believe in Spinoza’s God who reveals himself in the orderly harmony of what exists, not in a God who concerns himself with the fates and actions of human beings.” “The word god is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish.
