Theese are cool… they could be good, like safety in the car.. when you hit a wall, magnetic field makes you not to hit driving wheel of windshield, because you’re mostly made of water and magnetic field will stop you.. umh.. or maybe not.. but mmh… hey! They are cool to stare at! I love watching them. How much it would cost to send one to me?
Andre it’s a ‘diamagnetic levitation demonstrator’ dude. Powered levitation operates on the same principle but powerless diamagnetic levitation is still interesting. The concept did originate in Europe, around 120 years ago, congratulations.
It’s basically 2 bismuth plates and a little magnet in the middle. The housing is clear acrylic, the fittings are clear vinyl. The screw is just to adjust the lifting magnet. All the stuff is available on eBay.
Thomas go to Europe dude, they are using magtnetism to levitate trains for about 15 years already!!! the same concept with eletric power to create the magnet poles.
Nice example. How about demonstrating the Meissner effect?
haha idiot,

DON’T SAY HIS NAME!
that is not diamagnetic levitation that is magnetic levitation
Haha! Yeah they do! I’ve been hearing those songs since I was little. Can’t believe someone noticed that shirt. You rock!
Thank you!
i like you.
Schooner Faire rocks! … we the people, portland town, leviathan… etc
Haha, that’s a good sense of humor you have there!
Every other scene your clothes and voice quality changes!
cant we isolate magnetic forces?
how can we learn to wield that force and oppose it to the planet gravity to make things float? like antigravity ships and sci fi stuff
u can stabilize the magnet using ur fingers as well
Awesome idea!
make a vacuum in the tube, stick that thing in the ground and use a laser to measure the movement, and you’ve got a new ultrasensative seismometer

Oh man, I missed that one – nice catch.
Homopolar motors are fun. I tried to make one utilizing Ferrofluid as the rotor so it would behave as a pump but I never finished the prototype.

“I’ll make them in different sizes to play with!” (thats what she said)
haha couldnt help myself
