Comcast Installer Breaking Into THEIR Cable Box

Seriously, he came to install my cable and then asked to borrow a crow bar. I love their service once it’s connected, but their contractors have GOT TO GO!

did u thx the guy after he fix ur shit at lease!

  • emmetfox:

@fcarabatI agree. I have a feeling we aren’t getting the whole story. Whats the problem with someone breaking to the box to get your shit fixed? This guy would find something else to complain about if it wasn’t this. OMG he is going to break my AC unit because it’s not a stool. I hate anal motherfuckers.

This is a multi unit box, sometimes thieves try to get in the box and screw up the star lock on the box. These old boxes need to go is what is the problem I’m guessing or he lost his special star key screw driver at his last job and tried using a needle nose to unlock it…. All I can say is I have had my problems getting into these damn boxes myself many times

  • wildboy789789:

@Forwards666 WHERE R ALL THE KEYS!!! lol

  • IlluminatiDan:

@isaacu I work for Time Warner Cable in New York.. We contract burials out for people to bury underground cable. The only other contractors that do installs in our area are certified electricians who intall business class services. I wear a tool belt and carry a meter to measure for proper levels. Such as recieve and transmit levels. Also known as forward and return path. I am a top notch service tech. and installer. I do it all phone, data/hso and cable. Techs like this guy can’t touch me..

  • isaacu:

@IlluminatiDan Much like our MediaCom cable here they don’t use their employees exclusively. They hire CONTRACTORS most of which have no qualifications other than a drivers license and a vehicle.

  • IlluminatiDan:

That dude don”t even look like a cable guy man. Looks like you paid some crackhead to break into the cable box. He is not in a uniform even. Cable guys all wear a uniform.

  • chuckbyf1:

I love how he’s sitting on your ac grill. I would have told him to get the fuck off it.

  • kingofcool01:

u guy dont know what tech have to go through there everyday work some of those jboxs are mess up from the key opening do to ppl trying to get in and get no paying cable and some costmers are a bunch of jerk to techs so ppl who dont know how a tech work everyday then u dont have a saying in this

  • xDVSx:

suprised it was locked in the first place, or already not torn off the wall from someone tryin’ to get basic. i’ve cracked one open with a crowbar before because someone tried to drill out the lock and fucked it up. hard to say why this guy’s doin’ what he’s doin’ without knowing the whole situation, but they don’t teach dragon uppercuts to mdu boxes in class

  • Bushiey:

uh comcast is one of the worst corporations out their, find a new service.

  • blufx1963:

You can drill out the cylinder of the lock, to avoid damage to the box. It looks professional too, when you drill. LOL! You might want to keep locks to replace it with, and then you would have a key.

  • Forwards666:

@ninetyfive300zx I ripped the cover off one day in front of my sup, he didnt care cause he didnt have a key either

  • Forwards666:

@davidatlanta then you go get your att and clear then and stop complaining, or just instead of video tape it to complain about later why not just cancel then and save the guy some time and embarrassment

  • Forwards666:

@davidatlanta I have broken into so many boxes, if comcast does not give a tech a KEY to OPEN the box, would you just have him stand there staring at it??? do you want your damn internet or not, contractors get paid by the job NOT the hour, yes it is thier own cable box and it looks shady as hell but in all reality it has to happen or he could just tell you that you cant get no service and leave and do another job and get PAID

  • ColdHearted:

you would of bitched if he said I’ll be back in 2 hours with a key?
    ?
You bitch when he breaks in unconventianally…

Wtf do you want him to do?

  • davidatlanta:

@fcarabat Yes, but we have a choice about where our hard earned money is spent. I need TV & Internet, but I don’t necessary need Comcast. AT&T can give me the same programming and Internet. Clear can give me broadband. I’m not trying to say that all installers are stupid or that he wasn’t trying to make me happy by ensuring my service was connected that day. Hopefully, this was a unique situation and proper tools are used in most cases by dependable installers.

  • fcarabat:

@davidatlanta they will never leave. they NEED TV AND INTERNET! you have no idea how cranky people get without tv and internet. just remember this, customers are NOT always right.

  • davidatlanta:

@fcarabat Yes, “customers are fuckholes.” Fortunately for you eventually all the “fuckholes” will leave and you won’t ever have to deal with us again. If there aren’t any paying customers you won’t have a job.

  • fcarabat:

@davidatlanta duche bag, do you think this tech is breaking in for the fun of it or because he doesn’t know how to open it?? I have been in situations where I had to break in to our own box to hook up/fix someones cable tv/phone service. I guess I could have easily cancelled the job and have the customer wait even longer to get his service fix/installed, i’m sure they would be more happy that way. people have no clue what these guys go through, in general, customers are fuckholes.

  • ninetyfive300zx:

should have used a screw driver allot faster and e-z ,some times locks get stuck i take a hammer to em

  • cashcrunchcable2:

which helps me recall the time I asked for oil and they said next quarter the fleet budget is closed HELLO ford motor company comcast got a new engine on warranty free of cost.Thats their idea of cost efficient and no one is held accountable just oh well sorry I told you so. yes comcast can not know how screwed up things really are only it knows never to breath the same air twice, certainly they would never pay twice its real sad how much of the management energy is misfocused by overage of tasks

  • cashcrunchcable2:

obviously this tech is not represented.I’m represented and I always have a key but don’t dare lose it because getting another key would be difficult i’m sure because the last time I asked for a pair of safety glasses my comcast superviser told me he thought perhaps next quarter we would get some but they hadn’t figured out which of the remaining supervisors would be doing the tool orders now that 80% of those supervisory positions were lost in restructuring cuts
